Day 1

The arrival in the Faroe Islands is a special experience, especially when the sky is clear. The view out of the planes window is unimaginable and gives you that WAUW feeling.After arrival at Vágar airport a rental car will be waiting for you. After pick up you will take the drive to Tórshavn where you pass a subsea tunnel in order to get from Vágar to Streymoy. Taking the old mountain road towards Hotel Føroyar can be recommended since you will have an amazing Panorama view throughout the tour. Arriving at Hotel Føroyar you will be greeted by the staff in the reception. In the evening there will be a table waiting for you at the hotel restaurant Ruts, where you will be served a delicious dinner.

Day 2

We recommend that you spend the day exploring the capital and what the city has to offer. Visit the old part of town, the art gallery and the National museum. If you are interested in exploring the city with a local guide, please let us know.In the evening a table at Ræst will be waiting for you. Ræst is a traditional restaurant which is built on the ancient Faroese fermenting tradition and seasoned with modern ingenuity, Ræst is as authentically Faroese as it gets. Ræst is about great ambition: uniting the best of international fermented ingredients with our complex yet simple style of cooking.

Day 3

Today you will experience an authentic fishing experience where you sail in a traditional Faroese boat. You sail across the fjords and villages and get to enjoy the peace & quiet from the sea. In the Atlantic waters you typically catch fish like cod, haddock, whiting, saithe, ling and tusk. After the fishing tour you will be invited in to a private local home for a 3-course home cooked Faroese meal, where your catch of the day also will be included in the meal.

Day 4

To complete your tour in the Faroe Islands, we suggest a drive north where you visit some of the most idyllic villages on the islands; Tjørnuvík, Gjógv and Viðareiði.

In Tjørnuvík there is a beautiful beach that offers the most amazing view with mountains, cliffs and also the well-known sea stacks “Risin & Kellingin”. From Tjørnuvík over the Atlantic brigde towards the charming village Gjógv, which has its name after the beautiful gorge located in the village. Take a walk through the narrow streets, see the old houses and enjoy the beautiful view over the gorge. Afterwards to the northernmost village Viðareiði, also a place that is very charming in its own way. If you take a stroll away from the village you will have a view over the other northern islands; Svínoy, Fugloy, Kunoy, Kalsoy and Borðoy.

In the evening you will have a farewell dinner at restaurant ROKS. ROKS is a laid-back sister restaurant to KOKS. ROKS keeps the emphasis on the best quality Faroese seafood, combining both modern and classical cooking techniques. At ROKS they love to play around a little with food and flavours, so guests can expect a hands-on experience delivered with a professional and friendly service.

Day 5

Your experience on these small islands in the north has come to an end and we hope that you have enjoyed the taste of everything, we had to offer. Before heading to Vágar airport, we recommend that you explore Vágar island with a visit to the beautiful villages Bøur and Gásadalur, which also offer an amazing view over the islet Tindhólmur and the island Mykines.
