Upon arrival at Vágar Airport, you’ll immediately be surrounded by the Faroe Islands’ stunning landscapes. A shuttle will take you to Tórshavn, where you will stay for the next seven nights at Hotel Tórshavn. If you enjoy being in the heart of the city, this hotel is the perfect choice.

Alternatively, you can upgrade to Hotel Føroyar or select another hotel in Tórshavn to suit your preferences.

In the evening, enjoy a Welcome Dinner at Restaurant Áarstova, renowned for its delicious Faroese lamb and cozy atmosphere—a perfect introduction to the flavors of the islands.

Day 2

Sunday: Guided Tour to Vestmanna, Leynar, and Kvívík

Your guided adventure begins today with a half-day tour exploring Vestmanna, Leynar, and Kvívík. You’ll be picked up at your hotel, allowing you to relax and enjoy the scenic drive while your guide shares fascinating stories about the places you pass.

In Vestmanna, embark on a boat trip to the dramatic bird cliffs, a truly awe-inspiring experience. After the boat tour, visit the village of Leynar, where you can take a stroll along the white sandy beach, framed by charming colorful houses.

Your journey continues to Kvívík, where you will explore the historical Viking settlements. This visit offers a unique glimpse into how the Vikings lived, providing both history and breathtaking scenery along the way.

Day 3

Monday: Exploring the Heart of the Faroe Islands

Today you will explore the heart of the Faroe Islands, visiting the villages of Kirkjubøur, Saksun, Tjørnuvík, and Gjógv.

In Kirkjubøur, you will see Saint Olav’s Church, the oldest church still in use in the Faroe Islands, dating back to the 12th century, as well as the ruins of Magnus Cathedral, built around 1300.

Next, head to Saksun, where a stunning seawater lagoon and a picturesque old church await. Continue to Tjørnuvík, famous for its black sandy beach, dramatic surrounding mountains, and the view of Risin & Kellingin—the Giant and the Hag. According to legend, these giants once tried to drag the Faroe Islands to Iceland. Here you can enjoy your packed lunch while soaking in the spectacular scenery.

After lunch, visit the charming village of Gjógv, named after its remarkable sea gorge. Take your time strolling around the village, admiring the colorful houses and the peaceful surroundings, before returning to the hotel via a scenic route that highlights even more of the Faroese countryside.

Day 4

Tuesday: Full-Day Tour of Vágar

Today you will embark on a full-day tour exploring Vágar. You’ll be picked up at your hotel, allowing you to relax and enjoy the stunning scenery along the way.

Your first stop is the charming village of Bø, where you’ll be treated to spectacular views of the islet Tindhólmur and the dramatic sea stacks known as Drangarnir.

Next, visit the fairy-tale village of Gásadalur, home to the iconic Múlafossur Waterfall, one of the most photographed sights in the Faroe Islands. From here, you’ll also enjoy a breathtaking view of the island of Mykines, completing a day filled with some of the archipelago’s most scenic landscapes.

Day 5

Wednesday: Day Trip to Suðuroy

Today you will journey to Suðuroy, the southernmost island of the Faroe Islands. The adventure begins with the 08:45 ferry, a two-hour ride passing Sandoy, Skúvoy, Lítla Dímun, and Stóra Dímun. During the crossing, your guide will share fascinating Viking legends, including the stories of Tróndur and Sigmund.

Upon arrival at the port, take a short drive to Akraberg, the southernmost point of the Faroe Islands, offering breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. From there, head north to explore stunning landscapes and charming historic villages, immersing yourself in the island’s rich Viking heritage and local history.

Day 6

Thursday: Free Day in Tórshavn or Optional Mykines Excursion

Today you have the freedom to explore on your own or join an optional guided tour to Mykines, the famous puffin island.

In Tórshavn, the smallest capital in the world, you can take a leisurely walk through the old town, explore local craft and wool shops, and enjoy a cozy café. If you’re interested in history and culture, several museums in the city are worth a visit.

For those intrigued by wildlife and rugged landscapes, the optional tour to Mykines offers a chance to explore the island’s dramatic cliffs and, if you’re lucky, spot the iconic puffins.

This day is yours to do what you feel you’re still missing out on, whether that’s city charm, local culture, or a touch of adventure.

Day 7

Friday: Exploring the Northern Islands

Today you will explore the Northern Islands, beginning with a brief stop in Leirvík before heading to Borðoy. Here, you will visit Klaksvík, the bustling heart of the Faroese fishing industry.

Next, you’ll travel to the secluded village of Kunoy—which, amusingly, is located on the island of the same name—before continuing to Viðareiði, the northernmost village in the Faroe Islands, surrounded by dramatic mountains and breathtaking coastal views.

On the return journey to Tórshavn, you will pass through the impressive subsea tunnel with a roundabout, a modern engineering marvel.

In the evening, a table will be waiting for you at Ruts, located at Hotel Føroyar. Here you can enjoy a delicious dinner featuring local and seasonal ingredients, complemented by what is arguably the best view in town, overlooking Tórshavn, Nólsoy, and the surrounding fjord.

Day 8

Saturday: Departure

Your guided experience comes to an end today. A shuttle taxi will take you back to Vágar Airport for your onward journey. We hope this adventure has enriched you with centuries-old stories and traditions, delicious local cuisine, and the breathtaking nature of the Faroe Islands.
